Tent Boxer

His first book, Tent Boxer, narrates the life story of Kevin Leigh; an orphan turned prize fighter in the Australian agricultural show circuit in the 1950's. There, in the harshest environment on earth, Kevin was able to find love, but was forced to sit back as the chapters of time unfolded in front of him, almost taking with it any hope of ever finding her again. Set in amongst a backdrop of uniquely Australian entertainment history Kevin's story was dictated to Roy over a three year period and has been preserved here for all time. Tent Boxer's narrative weaves in and out amongst some of Australia's, and histories, greatest figures, such as Jimmy Sharman, The Pin Head Twins and Ubangi the pigmy.

Carnival Culture
